I have been thinking

For a long time

Every spare hour filled with introspection

It is lonely

Tonight, I heard stories of people who have passed

Who have influenced lives through living their own

People who shaped the church I go to

Shaped the people I know and love

Tonight, I met with people who are perhaps surer of their footing

On a pathway I find uncertain

As I trip over labels

I hear their differences

Notice similarities between us

I think about the people I did not know

I think of those I am yet to know

I think about burning down this tower of solitude

I think I've already done that
